PROUD BOYS LEADER ARRESTED FOR BURNING FLAG OF GROUP THAT BURNS U.S. CITIES

Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys group, has been arrested in Washington DC for burning a Black Lives Matter flag. He has been charged with  misdemeanour and destruction of property. The incident is believed to have happened last year, although the arrest was today (5th Jan).

The arrest seems to be politically motivated because the Proud Boys are gathering in Washington for a "yuge" Stop the Steal event scheduled for tomorrow (6th Jan). 

This agenda is also clear in BBC reporting, which emphasises the political context of the arrest:

President Donald Trump has been urging supporters to gather in the capital this week for another demonstration. [...]

Mr Tarrio has said on the social media app Parler that the Proud Boys will "turn out in record numbers on Jan 6th", referring to his members as "the most notorious group of extraordinary gentlemen".

The National Guard has been deployed by Washington DC's mayor to assist local authorities. Officials say the troops will not be armed and will be there to assist with crowd management and traffic control.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police Department, Dustin Sternbeck, told the Washington Post on Monday that Mr Tarrio had been stopped in a vehicle shortly after it entered the district.

The 36-year-old was also found during his arrest to be in unlawful possession of two devices that allow guns to hold additional bullets, a source told CBS News.

The destruction of property charge relates to a protest in Washington DC on 12 December in support of the outgoing Republican president's...claims of systemic election fraud.

The obvious irony of this is that BLM is a perfectly "respectable" organisation, which receives billions in corporate donations and whose flags are regarded as sacred, even though BLM rioters have burnt countless US flags, toppled statues of important historical figures, and torched large parts of almost every major American city last year.

This really is a double standard on an epic scale. Do you think the masses are ever going to notice? I mean, could they make it any more obvious?
