OLD CORPORATE WHORE SIGNALS TO WOKE BASE IN DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO MAINTAIN PARTY UNITY

Democratic Congress Leader Nancy Pelosi has a problem: her Party. 

The party leadership, like most elected US politicians, are basically corporate whores in the pocket of big business donors, but nowadays the Party's activist base is increasingly "woke" (i.e. they believe in a lot of sick Leftist utopian bullshit that would crash and burn society). The problem Nancy has is to try to keep these two wings united and to make sure she is the centre of that.

So, her tantrum-like behaviour -- as Speaker, no less -- in ripping up a copy of President Trump's State of the Union speech, right behind his back, after he had just finished making it to the assembled House and Senate, makes perfect sense. 

It was not an outburst of indignant passion, as some Leftists have presented it, or a "throwing her toys out of the pram" move that some Conservatives have claimed.

It was done pretty much with a poker face and in a low-key dispassionate way that was designed to reach everyone in the Dems' radical base but not register too much with normies and low-information voters, who will fail to see its significance and soon forget about it.

So, think of it as a big, fake dog whistle to radical leftists in the Party which says, "Hey guys this is Radical Nancy up here sticking it to the Orange Man." 

This is high-level stuff and was very skillfully done. But the bottom line is that, to smarter people like us, Nancy was just highlighting the extreme contradictions in her own Party between its corporate whore leadership and its increasingly unhinged Leftie base. Hopefully these two elements will fall into a slow-burning Civil War throughout the rest of 2020.
