PROMISING FOOTBALL CAREER MYSTERIOUSLY TURNS INTO RAPE AT KNIFEPOINT
Wow, ain't life quaint? You start out doing one thing and then somehow end up doing something completely different.
I mean, once I wandered into the kitchen to get a glass of milk but ended up making a cheese and pickle sandwich instead. Then there was that time I went into the garden to empty the bins but started chatting to my neighbour instead.
Crazy how that happens!
A bit like what happened to 'talented' child footballer Tinashe Mubereki who signed for Wigan Athletic's under 13s team around ten years ago in the hope of becoming a professional footballer but then suddenly ten years later ended up raping a woman at knifepoint.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo:
A rapist who tied up his victim for two hours and told her to make a 'goodbye message' for her mum was once a promising footballer who had been scouted for clubs.
Tinashe Mubereki asked the woman, in her 20s, how she wanted to die in a sickening attack before carrying out a "brutal rape" at a residence in Liverpool city centre in 2019.
He dangled a knife in front of the woman's face and asked her if he should stab her or suffocate her.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that the 23-year-old was a 'talented' footballer and as a schoolboy was signed for Wigan Athletic's under 13s for two years.
Tayo Adebayo, defending, said: "He was talented at football and was scouted for clubs until he suffered an injury."
Poor guy, I hope he's OK.
"Mr Adebayo...said Mubereki had 'poor mental health' and was 'emotionally unstable.' He had been supported by friends and family and had been in custody since his arrest a year ago and during that time was unable to have visits as a result of the pandemic, the court heard.
Gee, that's tough. I hope they're not too hard on the kid. I mean that kind of promising football career leading straight to rape is the kind of innocent mix-up that could happen to anyone.
Also, it could work both ways: Maybe if he went out to rape someone at knifepoint it might lead to a successful soccer career playing for a top British club and for England. Worth a try!

Mubereki, innocent victim of a weird football-career-knifepoint-rape mix up.
