TRUMP ABANDONED BY HIS NATO ALLIES IN IRAQ

There still seems to be some confusion about America's on-again-off-again decision to pull out of Iraq in the wake of the military assassination of a top Iranian general at Baghdad airport.

An earlier letter, sent to the Iraqi government by commander in chief of U.S. forces in the country, suggested they were already packing their bags. But this has been contradicted by subsequent statements emanating from the chaotic Trump administration.

The basic problem here is that Trump doesn't want to look like a feeble cowardly cuck so soon after making his big Rambo move of almost starting WWIII.

But whether Trump drags his heels or not is hardly important, because the logic of Trump's actions is that the US position in Iraq is now untenable and U.S. forces can no longer stay.

The hit on Suleimani at Baghdad airport -- an effective act of war by one (America) state on two others (Iran and Iraq) -- totally destroyed any US soft power or moral legitimacy in Iraq, making it impossible to remain.

America's NATO allies already realise this. They have started to back away from the mess created by Trump's actions and are already pulling their troops out.

As reported by the Guardian:

Germany is reducing its troop numbers in Iraq for security reasons after the death of the Iranian general Qassem Suleimani in a US drone strike in Baghdad last week.

It is the first coalition withdrawal since the Iraqi parliament voted on Sunday to call for the withdrawal of US forces from the country. The non-binding resolution has prompted a chaotic response from US officials...Germany said its two bases in Baghdad and Camp Taji, north of the Iraqi capital, in particular would be “temporarily thinned out”, with the forces transferred to Jordan and Kuwait. It said the transfer had been agreed with the US-led coalition.

But it's not just Germany:

Canada announced it was moving some of its 500 troops based in Iraq out of the country and sending them to Kuwait. The Canadian chief of defence staff, Gen Jonathan Vance, said in a letter to families of Canadian service personnel that it was best to pause work in Iraq to concentrate its efforts on the security of its soldiers.

Wow, Canada too! What about America's closest ally in all its Neocon wars:

UK sources confirmed on Tuesday morning that about 50 British personnel had been relocated out of Baghdad’s secure Green Zone, either to nearby Taji or out of the country. Meanwhile, about 20 military planners have flown in to help prepare for different scenarios, ranging from a deepening of the conflict with Iran to a full departure from the country.

Meanwhile the French have been begging the Iranians not to hurt the Americans in Iraq, which it is entirely within their rights to do now:

The French president, Emmanuel Macron, had a one-hour phone call with the Iranian president, Hassan Rouhani, in a desperate attempt to prevent Iran taking retaliatory military action.

Basically the longer US forces stay, the more certain it is that some of them will get hurt or killed. Trump's moronic tough guy PR will actually result in US deaths. The best thing is to get US forces out ASAP no matter how crap Trump looks or his Neocon backers cry and squeal.

There is no way US forces can stay in a country where they have shit the bed as badly as they did with Trump's crude act of Israeli-style aggression. US military personnel in Iraq can't stay without the cooperation and support of Iraqi forces. Trump destroyed that when he ordered the hit on Suleimani.

Get the fuck out now, Boomer!
