U.S. STATE GETS BORED WITH BLUE CENTRIST GOVERNOR, VOTES IN RED CENTRIST GOVERNOR
Voters in a U.S. state have got bored with their Blue Centrist governor of a few years and have voted in a Red Centrist governor. A few years later they will quite possibly vote in another Blue centrist, in what may be described as a "daring display" of doing something slightly different.
In the meantime, things will continue pretty much as they have been, with the usual centrist mix of public sector/ private sector economic policies, along with bog-standard rhetoric about helping small businesses, raising families, gay rights, inclusion, feminism, how racism is bad, caring for the environment, and how Israel is "our greatest ally."
In addition to being of the non-incumbent colour, the other thing the winning candidate had going for him in this election was the fact that he was an excessive 207 centimetres tall.

This is because voters are impressed by height, even though it has no discernible political application, outside of improving one's chances of being assassinated. For example, Abraham Lincoln, who was famously 193 cm high, was successfully assassinated at the first attempt in 1865 even though he was sitting down at the time; while Adolf Hitler, the diminutive WWII German leader, survived numerous attempts to bump him off, until finally having to do the job himself -- as he was only 175 cm tall.
