SYRIAN ARMY APPEARS TO BE MASSACRING ISIS PRISONERS

Recent videos released on Twitter appear to show members of ISIS apparently massacred in cold blood by forces of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) of President Basher al-Assad. The videos, reportedly taken in the Idlib region where the SAA has been advancing, show several dozen corpses dressed in civilian clothes lying on the ground.

The identity of the victims cannot be confirmed, but some of them appear to have jihadi-style beards and headgear. The most likely explanation is that these were ISIS operatives trying to pass through territory controlled by the SAA, possibly to join a remaining pocket of ISIS fighters in Idlib province. But they were apprehended by SAA troops, some of whom no doubt had their own personal grudge against ISIS, whose members committed widespread atrocities when they were in the ascendant some years ago.

In other words, this is a massacre that literally no one cares about.
