BLACK SKATER THROWS EPIC SULK AT WINTER OLYMPICS
U.S. Skater Shani Davis decided to skip the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics because a "racist" coin used in a coin toss to choose the athlete to carry the US flag didn't choose him.
Well, it was either that or because of the large number of Charlottesville-style tiki torches used in the ceremony.
According to USA Today, the speed skater felt he should have automatically been selected to carry the flag because of his previous achievements and the fact that February is "Black History Month."
"Multiple people told USA TODAY Sports that as of Friday morning, Davis did not intend to participate in the ceremony in accordance with his original plans," the paper reported Friday. "Had he been named flag bearer, the people confirmed, he would have accepted the honor and taken part."
The winner of the "racist" coin toss was U.S. Luger Erin Hamlin, who led the US team in the Opening Ceremony carrying the flag.
