It looks like Donald Trump's slavish support and free gifts --"recognising" the Golan Heights as Israeli territory and declaring the Iranian Republican Guard a "terrorist organisation" -- has finally paid off and pushed Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu over the line in Israel's general election.
Early exit polls pointed to a defeat for Bibi, but with over half the votes counted, his Jewish supremacist Likud Party has now pulled ahead of its rival, the centre-right Kahol Lavan party, and is set to form a new coalition government with a number of smaller right-wing parties.
