CORONA VIRUS DAILY UPDATE


The latest figures for the virus show a LOT of discrepancies between different countries. According to Sean Last, the virus has a death rate of about 0.1%. 

As death stats are more accurate than case stats -- for obvious reasons -- the way to get an idea of infection stats in any one country is to multiply the death stat by a thousand. In the case of Italy, that gives a 4 million people who either have or had the virus. Only about 1% of those cases have been picked up.

In the case of Germany which has 70 deaths, the actual probably number of infections is 70,000, which means the German's have identified around 30% of the actual cases.
