Going tits up
The Japan branch of the popular U.S. restaurant chain Hooters announced last week that it is closing its first and last outlet in the country.
In a statement on its website, the bar and restaurant chain, known for its busty waitresses in revealing uniforms, said that the Akasaka branch will cease operations after close of business this Friday (Nov. 6).
In the statement, Hooters Japan said that the closure of the Akasaka branch, which opened in October 2010, was “due to various reasons.”
At one point the titty-themed franchise expanded to seven branches, hitting sales of 1.77 billion yen (US$ 16,427,514) in 2016. But in recent years it wasn't able to keep abreast of the situation.
