VDARE BUYS IMPREGNABLE FORTRESS TO HOLD CIV-NAT CONFERENCES

Anti-Antifa Fortess
VDare, the anti-immigration, civ-nat site and organisation headed by Peter Brimelow, has just put down $1.3 million to buy what looks like a turreted medieval castle!

At first I thought Brimelow was just LARPing with his donors money, but then I realised it makes perfect sense, as VDare and other White identitarian groups typically face extreme attacks from antifa whenever they try to hold conferences at hotels and other privately-owned venues. Almost always the result is the venues cancelling the event. Having your own sturdy venue is the obvious solution to this problem.

As reported by local new site MorganCountyUSA.org:

Connie Perry Realty announced recently on it’s website that the Berkeley Springs Castle was under contract for $1.3 million.

Connie Perry would not say who the buyer is, but sources close to the deal say the buyer is VDare. Settlement of the transaction took place late Friday afternoon at Trump & Trump, the law firm of West Virginia State Senator Charles Trump (R-Morgan) in Berkeley Springs...

Brimelow calls himself a “civic nationalist” and last month he sued the New York Times for describing him as an “open white nationalist.”

Brimelow says that VDare has been looking around the country for a place to hold conferences.

“We have had a number of conferences cancelled this year by hotels,” Brimelow said on VDare TV in December 2019...According to an article last month in the Colorado Independent, VDare sued Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers “after VDare’s conference in Colorado Springs was canceled by the Cheyenne Mountain Resort, following widespread backlash and an announcement by Suthers that the city wouldn’t provide resources for the event. The federal lawsuit alleges that Suthers and the city violated VDare’s First Amendment rights.”

But will the castle just be a conference center for the common-sense views of sensible Dissident Righters or will it also be the palatial residence of the Brimelow family?

Going by the latest announcement from Brimelow's wife Lydia on the VDare site, it looks like it will serve both functions:

Peter and I, and the VDARE Foundation board, are delighted to announce the acquisition of the historic Berkeley Springs Castle, aka the Samuel Taylor Suit Cottage, in the beautiful resort town of Berkeley Springs West Virginia.

Owning our own meeting space has been a goal for many years, and it’s truly an honor to have this achievement manifested in such a stunning and important property...

In line with VDARE.com’s mission of being the voice for the Historic American Nation, it is our hope that this property will come to represent a first major step toward greater shared knowledge about the nation’s past, present and future. The VDARE Foundation values the strengthening of regional identities and local pride and the protection and celebration of America’s national heritage. This castle does both.

The castle includes an assembly-room and theater, so it is ideal for conferences, etc. But the way Lydia Brimelow is jangling the keys on the steps of the castle suggests she also sees it as a family home.
