TURKISH PRESIDENT PROUDLY DISPLAYS HIS ETHNIC CLEANSING PLAN

Nice work! Give him a gold star.
Turkish President Recep Erdogan's plan to change the ethnic map of Syria is well under way.

While the Turkish army and air force blast their way into Kurdish-controlled Northern Syria, Turkish-trained Arab militias follow in their wake making sure that all the Kurds in the occupied area flee south so that Arab refugees can be brought in to settle the territory.

How they do this is best left to your imagination, but here's a picture of some of these militia men just to get you started.

Erdogan's goal is to create a 20-mile-deep zone along the entire Syria-Turkey border populated by Arabs and other non-Kurdish groups. This is to stop the Kurds in Turkey linking up with the Kurds in Syria.

None of this would be happening if the US administration hadn't agreed to it. Yes, the fact is that the Trump administration has "betrayed" the Kurds because Uncle Sam values the friendship of the much more powerful Turks.

While things look bad for the Syrian Kurds, especially the ones being driven from their ancestral lands, the fact is that the Kurds -- with their US handlers -- still control a large area of Syria to the South of the 20-mile border zone.

Here they will remain in control, at least for the immediate future. Most of this land, however, has traditionally been occupied by Sunni Arabs, so there is now a possibility that the Kurds may try to do a bit of tit-for-tat ethnic cleansing in order to provide new land for their people to settle on.

Another possibility is that this betrayal by Trump will push them into the arms of President Assad of Syria, whose coalition is made up of different ethnic and religious groups.

Right now that's their best bet. Also a stronger Syria is their best chance of pushing the Turks out and getting back their ancestral lands. The Syrian government is definitely thinking along these lines, as reported by the Hezbollah-controlled Al-Manar newspaper (via The Iranian):

The Syrian regime said today that it would welcome Kurds back into its fold after they were “tossed aside” by the US, Al-Manar reported.

Kurds in northern Syria have been fighting regime forces since the onset of the Syria civil war in an effort to established an independent state. America led an international coalition fighting Daesh in the country and backed Kurdish forces who provided it with ground troops to fight the terror group.

However yesterday Trump declared that he would withdraw US troops from Syria ahead of a planned Turkish military operation...

Speaking to Al-Watan newspaper, Syria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad stressed that Damascus “will defend all Syrian territory, and will not accept any occupation of its land.”

Kurdish groups, he added, have been “tossed aside” by Washington.

“We advise those who have gone astray to return to the nation, because the nation is their final destiny,” he added, encouraging Syria’s Kurds to reconcile with the government.
