Fine, upstanding, family-centred Black folks. |
Apparently the shallow-bottomed "duck boat" that capsized and sunk in Table Rock Lake, Missouri, yesterday, was full of Black people at the time of the accident. In particular, one Black family lost 9 members, with only two members of the family surviving. In total 17 people have been confirmed dead.

The accident is being attributed to sudden stormy conditions, but there may be other factors that the mass media is less willing to address for reasons of political correctness. These may include the reaction of the passengers to the crisis and a possible panic situation. In general, Black people are not known for their nautical traditions and their ability to swim, so it is possible that these could have played some part in the high death toll of this pleasure boat accident.
According to the US Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, Black children aged 5 to 14 have a fatal drowning rate three times as high as Whites. While a 2010 study by USA Swimming discovered that just under 70% of African American children said they had no or low ability to swim. Rates are believed to be even worse for older Blacks.
While White liberals attribute this to "social injustice," the fact is that Blacks also have heavier bone and muscle density that renders them less buoyant. Blacks also reportedly avoid waters for other physical reasons. Following the tragic drowning of six African American teenagers in 2010, Bishop Larry Brandon, of the Praise Temple Full Gospel Baptist Cathedral, blamed Black mothers for not teaching their kids to swim because of hair style issues related to weaves and beads:
"African-American women, many of them if they go the beauty shop and get their hair fixed they are not going to swim."
Also, not to speak ill of the dead, but another factor in this tragedy may have been obesity.
As the above photo shows, several members of the family in question appear to be extremely overweight. Although this is a common problem for all Americans, it is an especial problem for Black Americans and may well have been a major contributing factor.

Greater awareness of racial factors could possibly reduce the chances of such tragedies happening again, but we also understand what a political hot potato that would be, which is probably why this accident will soon be forgotten and nothing will change.
Always remember that racial awareness is not "racism." Racism, as Colin Liddell has clearly defined it, is "irrational hatred of a particular group" -- nothing less, nothing more.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who have lost loved ones in this nautical nightmare.

Surprisingly the driver of the boat was also a black man. the captain was not. the black driver also died in the accident. It was a terrible day to be black on this boat. The black family seemed to be a fine christian church going family.I live down here and everybody is grieved by this. It was a terrible accident. There are going to be some serous money paid out in lawsuits. This family, especially whats left of it, deserves nothing less.several other folks, white folks in this case, including a father and son from Florida also died.
