One of the great tragedies of modern Britain is the extent to which young Muslim men repeatedly fail to achieve their full potential. This is of course due to racism.
Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London and the country's leading elected Muslim representative, must be sorely worried by this after the latest London terrorist attack, where young Muslims men failed once again to achieve their full potential.
In what should have been a devastating attack using a home-made "bucket bomb" on a crowded train, the Muslim terrorists failed and only succeeded in causing a minor disturbance as a fireball burst through the carriage, leaving around 20 passengers with comparatively minor injuries.
The bomb was clearly designed to cause much worse death and destruction. By exploding in a crowded and confined space, the device was intended to claim at least a dozen lives and seriously maim and injure many more. The location chosen, Parson's Green, one of the Whitest areas of London, was designed to ensure that as many native English and other Europeans as possible would be the victims.
But due to the usual barriers to success that young Muslims face elsewhere in British society -- like institutional racism, microaggressions, bacon, and jokes about 72 virgins -- the bombmakers were negatively impacted in their bomb-making skills, resulting in a substandard device being produced, which, in one case, only managed to singe an intended victim's eyebrows instead of blowing him limb from limb.
As long as the evil legacy of racism against Muslims persists, the bombmaking and other skills of British Muslims are sure to suffer, keeping them at the bottom of society and breeding resentment and more bad bomb-making.
The UK government has a moral imperative to overcome racism by looking at ways in which young Muslims can be empowered in all their skill sets, including bomb-making.
Only when Muslim bombs explode with 100% devastation will Britain be able to claim that it has fully overcome racism and Islamophobia.
The poorly constructed device was a damning indictment of the adverse effects of racism on Britain's Muslim community. |
