Alt-Right leader Richard Spencer may not be "literally Hitler," but it seems that he is at least literally a cotton plantation owner, it was revealed by Leftist journalists seeking to attack the financial basis of the Alt-Right.
This latest revelation about Spencer was contained in a podcast by the Center for Investigative Reporting (CIR), a shadowy news organization run by Robert Rosenthal and Phil Bronstein, an ex-husband of Hollywood star Sharon Stone.
The podcast revealed that Spencer is one of the absentee landlords of a 5,200-acre cotton and corn farm in the former slave state of Louisiana. The farm is apparently owned by Richard Spencer, his mother Sherry Spencer, and his sister. It also claimed that the farm had received $2 million in federal farm subsidies last year.
When asked by CIR about how much money he receives from the enormous farm (equal to roughly 20 square kilometres), Spencer neglected to say but added:
“I’m not involved in any direct day-to-day running of the business. I’m going to navigate the world as it is, and I’m not going to be a pauper.”
